Who are we?

We are the Ballymena Ukulele Group, also known as The BUGs.

We're a community of mixed skill-level ukulele enthusiasts who enjoy playing, singing, and having a bit of crack together. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced musician, we'd love to welcome you to come and join in the fun.

What we do

The BUGs are a group of uke players who come together to share our love of music and the ukulele. Our group is open to all ages and skill levels and we welcome anyone who is interested in learning how to play, or who just wants to come along and join in...even if you've never touched a ukulele before.

Our group meets every Monday evening from 7 to 9pm at Ballymena Methodist church hall where we play and learn new songs, share tips and tricks, and just enjoy each others company. We regularly perform at local events and venues; spreading the joy of popular songs interpreted for the ukulele throughout the community.

Tea and biscuits as standard!

If you're interested in joining our group, or if you'd like to hire us to play, please get in touch with us. We'd love to hear from you.

We play songs from virtually every genre, old and new. Many of these can be found in the amazing Belfast Uke Jam Songbook that our friends over at the Belfast Uke Jam have put together.
